Today, my hubby took a black flying fox in his lunch bag.
Although, called a flying fox, this is a bat, also known as a fruit bat.
Found in Australia, these bats do not use echolocation (sonar-like squeaking sounds) to navigate,
though they may use something similar by making snapping sounds with their wings.

colored with Zensations Mechanical Colored Pencils
on a Hahnemühle Watercolour Postcard.
The rough surface of this postcard gives a nice textured look to the colored pencil
and allows you to build up your colors. You do need to add layers to fill in but I love the effect. I intended to keep working and add more layers yet, but then needed it for hubby's lunch bag.
